Divine Healing Absolutely Is for Today
by Dave Root
The blurb from the back of the book
Does God heal anyone today?
Why aren't people healed no matter how much we pray?
How can we see healing in ourselves and in others?
If you're a Christian, you've probably asked yourself these or similar questions. In this thought-provoking book, Dave Root addresses these issues, providing a strong biblical foundation for healing.
Examining hundreds of Scripture passages,
Divine Healing Absolutely Is for Today
shines new light on physical healing, shifting our perspective, correcting our wrong assumptions, and demonstrating that divine healing is a vital part of Jesus's commission to the Church.
The book answers common questions and objections about healing, explains what actually happened at the cross, and discusses spiritual gifts, the laying on of hands, minimizing doubts and fears, the key factors for miracles, and much more.
With the practical teaching in this book,
all
Christians can heal the sick for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The intended impact of the book
My article called
End-Times Prophecies Are Coming to Pass Right before Our Eyes
(see sign #19) explains that there might be a great revival, the "latter rain," in the end-times (the final years of the Church Age), and many pastors and ministries are praying for it to begin (search online for "last-days revival"). The article shows that we're in the end-times now, and that the first raindrops of the latter rain have fallen occasionally in various parts of the world for approximately the past 300 years. The full revival, accompanied by miracles, healings, and a massive harvest of people receiving salvation, is now slowly getting underway.
That article also shows that
there will be a great apostasy, a great rebellion or falling away from proper beliefs, before
the seven-year Tribulation period (the period when the Antichrist will be in power). This means it will happen during the last part of the Church Age and will overlap the latter rain revival because the Church Age and the revival will end
when Jesus "snatches up" all Christians (alive or dead) and takes us into heaven.
This great rebellion or falling away from proper beliefs (prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24:10-13 and by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4) is currently being fulfilled in large part by the multitudes of Christians who are already denouncing the idea of a great last-days revival
(as
my end-times prophecies article
shows in sign #19).
Most of those Christians believe that miracles, healings, and the so-called miraculous gifts of the Spirit ceased or died out during or shortly after the first century, but this form of apostasy (known as cessationism) is thoroughly refuted in my article called
All Gifts of the Spirit Are Available Today.
It's a lie from the devil, and my article shows that the apostle Paul said it's a very specific sign of the "terrible times in the last days" (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
End-times prophecies tell us that there will be great apostasy
and
great revival in the last days before Jesus returns for the Church. These two opposing forces will cause great upheaval within Christianity around the world, revealing who is actually with Jesus (with revival) and who is against Jesus (against revival). This schism
already
exists within Christianity around the world, and the Lord has now slowly begun cracking that schism apart. Rocky times are ahead for the Church, much sooner than we realize.
What the Lord has told me (see my article called
How to Discern God's Guidance)
is that since this book teaches exactly how
all
Christians can see miracles and healings for His glory, He always intended to use this book for initiating the full latter rain revival around the world. No one knows how long this revival will last, but it will end when Jesus "snatches up" the Church (meaning
every
Christian) and takes us into heaven. Many pastors and Bible teachers refer to that event as the pre-tribulational Rapture, which will bring the Church Age to a close (see my series called
The Rapture of the Church).
This book was published in 2024, and
my end-times prophecies article
(see sign #19) shows why it's possible that the great last-days revival might last for 7 years, so if the full latter rain began slowly getting underway in 2024 then the Rapture might now be 7 years away (if not sooner). Time will tell. In roughly two dozen passages, almost every author of the New Testament told his readers to expect that the Rapture would take place in their lifetime, at an uncertain time but at any moment (see my article called
The Rapture of the Church - Part Six).
The timing of the Rapture is always uncertain, yet it's always possible at any moment, especially after the last-days revival gets fully underway.
If everything at my website
(VividChristianity.com),
including this article,
says what God wants it to say then He will confirm that for you by doing a miracle.
See my
home page
for the details.
In Luke 12:35-48, Jesus told one or two parables about the Second Coming. Immediately after that, He said that He had come to send fire on the earth and He wished it were already kindled (Luke 12:49 NKJV). So He spoke of a
future
fire being kindled in the context of the end-times. Then He explained what this future fire will look like by describing families being torn apart by differences in their beliefs (Luke 12:51-53, Matthew 10:34-39, Luke 14:25-27) (for more on this future fire, see my article called
Cheat Sheet #30).
These divisions and persecutions tearing apart families and the rest of the body of Christ began happening right from the beginning, as we can sometimes see throughout the New Testament, but in the context of the end-times Jesus specifically said that the fire had
not yet
been kindled. As crazy as it sounds, if you see the miracle described above, it means that God is confirming that when Jesus spoke of a future fire being kindled in Luke 12:49, He was specifically referring to the intended impact of this book. It wasn't my intention to write a book that would create a firestorm of controversy, but that's entirely up to the Lord; there's nothing I can do about it. If He uses it in that way, then so be it. If not, then so be it. He's the One in charge, and His plans will be carried out whether or not they make sense to our fallible human minds!

For the glory of the Lord Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, who came in the flesh, was delivered over to death for our sins, and was raised to life for our justification.

"Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and
no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit."
(1 Corinthians 12:3)
"Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ.
Such a person is the antichrist - denying the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father;
whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also."
(1 John 2:22-23)
"If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God."
(1 John 4:15)
"Dear friends,
do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God,
because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." (1 John 4:1-3)
"And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. I say this because
many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world.
Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist." (2 John 1:6-7)
"He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification."
(Romans 4:25)
